Flash & Go needs camera permission to work. If it was denied, open the iOS Settings app, scroll to Flash & Go, and turn on Camera. Then reopen the app.

If the preview still looks black, fully close the app (swipe it away in the App Switcher) and relaunch it.

Photos and videos are stored only in Flash & Go's private sandbox on your device — completely separate from your personal Camera Roll. You'll find them in My Gallery. A parent can choose to save favorites to Photos; those exports follow your Photos and iCloud settings.

Flash & Go automatically deletes older photos based on the retention window set in Parent Settings — options range from session-only to 7 days. If photos vanished sooner than expected, check that setting.

To keep an important photo, star it and save it to Photos from Parent Settings. Favorite protection must be enabled to keep starred items during cleanup. Deleting the app removes its gallery, including protected favorites.

Parent Settings are protected by Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode through Apple's LocalAuthentication. There is no separate Flash & Go password.

If authentication fails, you can always fall back to your device passcode at the prompt. Make sure Face ID / Touch ID is enabled for your device in iOS Settings. As long as you can unlock your iPhone, you can reach Parent Settings.

Saving to the Camera Roll is a parent-only action. Star the photos you want to keep, then open Parent Settings (after authenticating) and use the option to save starred photos to your Camera Roll.

The first time you do this, iOS will ask for photo library permission. If you previously denied it, enable Photos for Flash & Go in the iOS Settings app.

The camera and creative tools work offline. Version 1.1 introduces optional anonymous usage sharing, off by default and controlled in Parent Settings. When enabled, it sends daily usage counts, not photos, videos, audio, names, location, or persistent identifiers. There are no ads or third-party analytics SDKs. See our Privacy Policy.

Flash & Go supports Dynamic Type and Reduce Motion. To make text larger, adjust Settings → Display & Brightness → Text Size (or Accessibility for larger sizes). To calm animations, turn on Settings → Accessibility → Motion → Reduce Motion — the app reduces decorative motion.
